Andrew Haggie
Andrew Haggie currently holds the position of Senior Manager of the Materials Engineering Department at JaguarLandRover and is based at the Engineering Centre at Gaydon, Warwickshire. He has responsibility for providing materials consultancy and laboratory test services to the whole company, but primarily focussed on new Product Development for all Jaguar and LandRover vehicles. This involves material selection, validation, competitor benchmarking, quality improvements and new technology evaluation and implementation.
Andrew graduated in Materials Science and Technology from Sheffield University in 1984, starting at Austin Rover, and worked on a wide variety of materials projects, which continued with the move to Jaguar in 1990. Now leading the combined team of JaguarLandRover materials engineers, he has extensive knowledge and understanding of automotive materials issues, requirements and challenges.
The broad and rich materials usage in modern motor vehicles and the multi-tiered supply base, encompasses perhaps the most technically diverse range of materials related topics and technologies, with ongoing challenges of light weighting, material sustainability and alternative powertrains, to name but a few.
