Chris Moore

Chris is a patent attorney with HGF, and covers engineering and chemistry fields, with specialisations in aerospace and automotive technologies, green technology, medical devices, plastic electronics (PVs, OLEDs), ceramics, polymers, CVD and plasma deposition, fuel cells and analytical chemistry/instrumentation.

Chris has advised individuals, SMEs, multinationals and academic institutions on uncovering, obtaining and protecting and leveraging their intellectual assets. He has undertaken due diligence work for VCs, PE firms as well as in respect of MBOs/MBIs. Chris has also advised on inward and outward licensing matters both from and to multinational organisations.

Chris regularly advises on high profile matters and has an enviable success rate in both defending and attacking patents in Opposition and Appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office. Chris has also undertaken litigation work domestically and abroad.

Chris is mentioned and personally recommended in the major patent attorney ratings lists, including Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. Indeed, he was ranked in band 1 (the highest) of patent attorneys in the latest Chambers & Partners guide.

Chris holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham in physical chemistry, an MSc in spectroscopy from the UEA and a first degree in environmental chemistry from UEA. Chris is also a member of the Joint Examination Board for the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
