Fedor Berditchevski

Fedor heads a research lab at the University of Birmingham School of Medical and Dental Sciences, and is focused on communication between cells in tumour microenvironment. He discovered partners of tetraspanin proteins, and leads a UK initiative studying inflammatory breast cancer.

His research is supported by grants from the Breast Cancer Now, Medical Research Council and Wellcome Trust, and he is involved in undergraduate teaching and in supervision of postgraduate students.

Fedor has been a member of Association for International Cancer Research and
Breast Cancer Campaign funding committees, and holds an editorial appointment. He is currently serving at the Scientific Advisory board of the Breast Cancer Now and is a member of the advisory board on the Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank.

He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Fedor was awarded a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology in the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a BSc from the Department of Biology of Moscow State University.
