Bryn Richards
Bryn Richards is the Founder and CEO of Aeristech Limited. He is originally from Canada and studied at the University of Manchester - Institute of Science and Technology from 2003 – 2004. He gained power generation experience with E.ON, including in renewable power and energy storage, and has expertise in electrical and mechanical engineering and in the control of ultra high speed motors.
Aeristech has recently raised £1,000,000 and is collaborating with groups in Birmingham to pursue commercial testing with leading carmakers and with construction equipment giant JCB. Aeristech’s system gives small engines more power, while reducing emissions and fuel consumption by a quarter. Turbocharging recycles energy from exhaust gases to raise the pressure of the air entering an engine, making it more efficient. Aeristech's fully electric, single-stage turbocharger (HTT) eliminates turbo lag providing smooth, computer controlled boost through every stage of engine operation. Control of HTT is precise and free of lag, improving combustion, fuel economy and performance including in diesel engines and off-highway vehicles where fine control is required in order to reduce particulate emissions.
