David Taylor

David is Head of Regeneration at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB). He has extensive experience of economic development, finance, external funding and regeneration. David was lead officer responsible for the West Midlands’ Regional Innovation Strategy and a past Chair of the West Midlands local authorities’ European Officers Group.

In his current role David is particularly interested in making healthcare a catalyst for wider regeneration – particularly in terms of broadening access for disadvantaged groups to the jobs the health and social care sector has to offer; and using medical technology as a driver for economic activity, innovation and enterprise.

David is a non-executive Director of Central Technology Belt Ltd and chairs Birmingham Science City’s Innovative Healthcare group.
