Jennifer Bailey

Jennifer has experience in preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technical areas including chemical, mechanical and biotechnology. In particular, she has handled applications relating to antibodies, gene expression systems, microbiology, stem cells, medical devices, vaccines, magnetic compositions, foundry and food technology.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Warwick in 2004 with a masters degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, during which time she spent a year at AstraZeneca in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. She subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Birmingham in molecular microbiology. Her research related to secondary metabolism in the bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens, in particular investigating genes involved in polyketide antibiotic biosynthesis.

Jennifer joined Marks & Clerk as a trainee patent attorney in 2008 and qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney in 2012. She is working towards completing the European qualifying examinations in 2013.

Jennifer is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
