An independent engineer with 25 years experience of running a successful consultancy business. Portfolio includes aeromechanical, electromechanical, mechanical, nuclear, structural and vibration engineering, design project management, also higher education teaching and research. This experience is complemented by a comprehensive series of academic qualifications related to engineering in general. Key skills include independent review and assessment, design and analysis, management and manufacture liaison. Research interests include integrity-assessment methods for containment structures, renewable-energy storage, engineering forensics, and also student attitudes to careers in the traditional industries within the UK.
Royal Academy of Engineering visiting professor at universities in both the West Midlands and South Yorkshire, and the remit for each facilitates technology transfer between local SMEs and those higher education institutions.
