Yvonne Booth

Yvonne graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2002 with a first class Masters degree in Chemistry. Her undergraduate degree included an exchange year at the University of Queensland in Australia and she returned there to study for a PhD in Organic Chemistry, which she completed in 2007. Her PhD research investigated the biosynthesis of volatile spiroacetal compounds released by a pestiferous, native fruit-fly species Bactrocera tryoni, with the aim of developing an environmentally benign, inhibition-based control method.

Before joining Marks & Clerk as a trainee patent attorney in 2012, Yvonne worked as a synthetic chemist for a UK Contract Research Organisation, synthesising potential drug leads for a global pharmaceutical company.
